Dinner time is quickly approaching, you guys. I still don’t know what to make most nights, lol!
One of my favorite things about the kitchen, besides the coffee I drink while standing at the counter, is how one good idea can fix a whole week of meal planning.
Somebody always asks what’s for dinner before they even take their coat off.
Every so often my neighbors and I trade recipes over the fence. It turns into a mini cooking contest, lol! Nobody keeps score, but we all know who wins.
Since planning meals can feel like a full time job, I’ve gathered 20 adorable meal ideas the entire family will love! Don’t fret if cooking isn’t your strong suit.
From sheet pan dinners to soups and holiday spreads, there’s something here for every night of the year. Under each idea I’ve added the little details you actually want to know, plus a link to the full step-by-step recipe.
MEAL IDEAS FOR EVERY OCCASION
1. Sheet Pan Chicken Fajitas
We’re starting off strong with sheet pan chicken fajitas. I load one pan and walk away, so cleanup takes about two minutes flat, haha!

- Cleanup takes two minutes
- Great for lunches the next day

- Broils in ten minutes
- Rice cooker does the hard part

- A Tuesday tradition
- Bakes at 375°F for 40 minutes
- Any ground meat works here
- Freezes well for later
5. Homemade Veggie Pizza Night
Homemade veggie pizza night is a weekly ritual at our house. The neighborhood kids pick their own toppings and pretend they’re running a restaurant, lol!
Store-bought dough saves a ton of time. Nobody has ever complained about that shortcut, not once!
- Friday night, every week
- Bakes at 450°F on a warm stone
- Store-bought dough works great
- Toppings are whatever’s in the crisper
6. One Pan Garlic Pasta
If you’re looking for this these, then this one pan garlic pasta is exactly what you need. Everything cooks in the same pot, noodles included.

13. Foil Packet Campfire Dinner
Got a fire pit and a pile of foil lying around? This foil packet dinner is one of the best camping these out there!
