Looking for aesthetic sketchbook doodle ideas for your next blank page? Little flowers, smiling mushrooms and star-filled skies give you plenty to start with.

There are simple black outlines here, colorful pages and a few more detailed illustrations if you feel like taking things further.

You can keep it simple or fill the whole page. Pick a little detail you love, whether that’s a tiny cat in a window or a pink bow on a sugar jar.

Sketchbook doodles worth trying

flowers and pastel loops

We’re starting off strong with these pretty flower sketches. I love the pink, peach and lilac loops behind the black outlines. The little bee near the top is so cute.

Try drawing a few different stems rather than repeating the same flower. Leave little gaps for dots, sparkles and a butterfly.

a teacup with curling steam

How pretty is this teacup? The decorated handle and wavy saucer give you plenty of little details to draw, but those tall curls of steam are my favorite part.

If you want a simpler version, keep the cup outline and big steam swirls. You can leave out some of the tiny marks around the rim.

moons stars and a telescope

If you love anything space-themed, this one is for you. There’s a ringed planet, a crescent moon and even a little jar filled with stars.

The window in the middle is such a sweet addition. Try your own tiny night view with a moon and a few stars inside a rectangular frame.

smiling mushrooms and gourds

I am obsessed with these little mushroom faces. The round eyes and tiny cheek marks are adorable, especially on the cluster at the bottom.

Give your mushroom caps different spots and shapes like these. The two smiling gourds above them would be cute additions to an autumn page too.

a colorful stamp collection

This one is a stamp collage rather than a doodle page, but look at all those tiny pictures! Flowers, boats and fruit sit across pink and red-striped backgrounds.

For a drawing version, try making your own little stamp-shaped frames. Fill each one with a different small subject instead of copying the tiny lettering.

a bedroom in black outlines

How cute is this bedroom sketch? I love the string lights above the bed and the slippers beside the armchair.

Start with the bed if you want to try a room scene, then add a bedside table and a shelf. The tiny framed hearts are a lovely detail to keep.

windows with little surprises

This window page may just be one of my favorites. Every opening has something different, from striped curtains to plants and a little dog.

The white cat between the blue curtains is so sweet. Try a row of windows with different curtains, then choose one for a pet peeking out.

butterflies and looping lines

The orange butterflies and pink flowers are so pretty together. I especially love those long looping lines wandering through the open spaces.

You don’t have to fill every gap with another flower. Keep a few big loops between your drawings if you want a page like this one.

happy little baking ingredients

OMG, how adorable are these baking ingredients? Even the butter has a little smile. The pink checked jar lid and bow are such cute details.

There’s a lot packed into this illustration. For a smaller doodle, try just the two eggs in their pink bowl or the smiling milk bottle.

cameras cupcakes and coffee

Don’t want to draw a whole scene? No problem!

This page mixes separate little objects, including cameras, cupcakes, glasses and wrapped gifts.

I love the bold black outlines. Pick a few everyday favorites of your own and leave some space between them, just like this.

a page full of silly cats

Is that a cat-shaped UFO picking up little green cats? This page goes all out, lol!

There’s also a skateboarding cat and a cat popping out of a toaster.

Try changing the body shape every time you draw a new one. The extra-tall cat on the right is proof that you don’t need to stick to realistic proportions.

ribbons rolls and leafy sprigs

If you’re looking for little details to add around your journal entries, save this one. The ribbon banners and leafy sprigs would look lovely beside a heading.

I especially like the striped ribbon near the middle. Try a blank version if you want somewhere to write a short title.

tiny streets under crescent moons

I am obsessed with these little nighttime streets. The yellow windows look so pretty against the dark blue buildings, with pink and peach houses mixed in.

You can borrow just one small detail if a whole street feels like too much. That black cat sitting in the open window is a lovely place to start.

an eye inside a pointed star

Want one drawing to take up most of the page? Try this eye inside a long four-pointed star.

The dark lashes and layered sketch lines give it a completely different look from the tiny doodles above.

Keep the smaller sparkles around it if you like a little extra decoration.

spiral clouds and raindrops

The pattern fans are going to love this! Each cloud is made from clusters of spirals, with small outlined raindrops filling the spaces around them.

Mix larger circles with little ones instead of making them all match. I’d keep this page black and white just like the picture.

books plants and little lamps

This is another lovely page of separate objects, but this time it’s all about books and little corners of home. I love the heart mug sitting on top of the book stack.

Try pairing two things you like, such as a plant on a shelf or a cup on a stool. You don’t need to draw a whole room to use these details.

red flowers by a blue window

How pretty is that blue behind the red flowers? This loose window sketch leaves plenty of white space, with a dark pot and a small candlestick on the sill.

If you want to try something similar, let your outlines stay a little uneven. You can add patches of color without filling every shape right up to the edge.

a detailed blue reading corner

If you feel like taking your sketchbook beyond little doodles, this reading corner gives you lots to work with. The blue bookshelves, cream columns and curved chair are gorgeous.

This is a much more detailed illustration than the other ideas here. Borrow a small section for your own page, such as a row of colorful books or the chair with its green cushion.

swirling clouds around the sun

This is another way to draw swirling clouds, but it’s a little different from the rainy pattern above. The clouds gather around the edges while long sun rays stretch through the middle.

I love the simple border around the drawing. Add one to your own version if you want to keep those curling shapes contained.

pink tulips and playful extras

Last but definitely not least, we have this colorful page of tulips, fruit and little characters. I love the pink flowers in that blue-and-white pot!

The duck dipping its beak toward a cup and the frog at the edge make the page even cuter. Try mixing a larger flower drawing with small fruit doodles and yellow stars.
