Looking for new years eve party decor at home that goes beyond a few balloons? Think gold stars overhead, a sparkling photo corner or a little tray of disco balls on your table.
There’s plenty to choose from here, whether you’re decorating one corner or the whole living room.
You can keep it simple or go all out. I especially love the black bows on gold balloons!
These ideas include table decorations, party backdrops and a few pretty ways to display your drinks and treats.

New Year’s Eve decorations worth saving
gold balloons and black bows
We’re starting off strong with these gorgeous gold balloons. I love the little black bows and the long ribbons hanging in front of the white curtains.
Try hanging yours at different heights like these. A few extra balloons on the floor and little lights behind the curtains complete the look.
a tower of dessert glasses
Who says a tower of glasses has to be for drinks? These shallow glasses hold layered desserts with pale middles and brown tops. They look so pretty stacked together.
For your own dessert table, I’d use a tiered stand instead of balancing filled glasses on one another. You can still show off those lovely layers.
pink fringe and silver stars
If you are looking for something that goes all out, then this one is for you. There’s pink, black and silver fringe, a balloon-covered top and giant silver star shapes.
I am obsessed with the bright pink floor! Try a pink backdrop with silver fringe if you want a smaller version of this photo spot.
disco balls down the table
This table may just be one of my favorites here. I love the different sizes of disco balls along the pale runner, especially beside the black plates and tall black candles.
The little starbursts on the white napkins are so pretty. Add a similar decoration to each place setting if you want that extra detail.
hanging stars above dinner
How cute are all those dangling stars? They hang around the pendant shade and across the dining space, with greenery framing the opening above.
The disco balls and pastel candles bring the party onto the table too. If you try hanging stars, keep them clear of the light fixture and any candle flames.
an all-silver photo corner
I am obsessed with this silver backdrop. The hanging disco balls and big pointed stars are just so good together.
Cover a corner with silver fringe to follow the look. Leave a clear spot to stand, with the larger decorations off to either side.
gold letters and curtain lights
Give your living room a little party makeover with gold letter balloons and strings of lights. I love how the balloons stretch across the windows instead of sitting on just one wall.
The silver fringe around the round drinks table is my favorite part. It’s a fun detail to borrow without rearranging your whole room.
a simple balloon backdrop
Don’t want to go all out and want something a little simpler? This fringe backdrop is for you.
Gold, black and clear confetti balloons frame the top corners.
You could leave the stool beside it for seated photos or move it away for more standing room.
a colorful balloon countdown
How fun is this balloon clock idea? Clear balloons filled with colorful confetti make a big circle on the wall, with gold numbers inside.
If you recreate it, double-check your numbers before hanging everything. Use 12 at the top and work clockwise around the circle.
black and silver clock balloons
Here is another countdown idea, but this one uses an actual wall clock. The black and silver balloons sit around its edge with gold numbers on the front.

I love that you can make an existing decoration part of the party. Keep the balloon strings away from the clock hands if yours are exposed like these.
burgundy bows and white candles
These burgundy bows are so pretty against the white candleholders. The long tails reach right down to the tabletop, with very little else needed around them.
I’d recreate this with flameless tapers so the ribbons stay well away from an open flame.
confetti down the center
If you are looking for something simple to put together, this one is for you. Colorful dots and shiny stars run down the middle of a white table, between plain plates and clear glasses.
Keep the confetti in the center rather than around the plates. You don’t need a big centerpiece when the little details are this cute.
a pink-lit fringe corner
This is another pretty way to use fringe, but it looks so different with pink lighting. Two covered walls meet in a corner, with little lights showing through the dark shiny strands.
Try a colored light aimed toward your backdrop if you want a similar glow. You can skip the raised platform for an at-home version.
sparkly drink toppers
How cute are these little silver bursts above the glasses? The rows of pale drinks look extra festive with matching tinsel-style toppers.
For your own drinks, choose food-safe stirrers with decorations that stay above the rim. I’d keep the same silver color across the whole display.
disco party snack table
If you love matching party details, there is so much to save here. The disco-print balloon, little mirrored balls and black-and-gold plates all follow the same theme.
I especially love the cupcake stand between the popcorn and drinks. Put your taller displays toward the back so the smaller treats have room in front.
a candy clock and drinks cart
A clock made with wrapped chocolates? I am obsessed with this idea.
Gold-wrapped sweets circle the edge while silver-wrapped ones fill the middle beneath black clock hands.
The disco-ball bottle holder is another favorite. Try the candy clock on a platter beside your glasses if you don’t have a drinks cart.

gold stars overhead
Don’t want balloons or a big wall backdrop? No problem! These hanging gold stars give you a different way to decorate the room.

I love the mix of large and small shapes. Hang yours at different heights while keeping the lower stars clear of walkways.
a festive hot cocoa station
This cocoa bar has such cute topping ideas. There are jars of marshmallows, striped candy canes, wafer rolls and little bowls of sprinkles across the two displays.
The decorations here lean Christmas, but you could borrow the setup for New Year’s Eve. Swap in gold labels and star decorations if you want to change the theme.
a little countdown centerpiece
This is actually one of my favorite ideas for a smaller table. A round tray holds disco balls, tall black candles and greenery topped with glittery 2026 numbers.
Use number picks for the year you’re welcoming. I’d choose flameless candles here to keep the greenery clear of flames.
a basket of party hats
Last but definitely not least, we have this cute basket of party accessories. I love the gold and silver cone hats tucked between the shiny headbands and tinsel-topped sticks.
Set a basket like this near your entry so guests can choose something when they arrive. The accessories can be part of the decor until everyone’s ready to wear them.
