Looking for unique things to make and sell that go beyond a plain mug or T-shirt? Think dessert-inspired candles, little floral earrings and pet portraits with raised details.
These ideas give you plenty to work with, whether you enjoy painting, stitching or making smaller accessories.
You can keep things simple or go all out with the details. Start with a craft you already enjoy, then choose a color combination or personal touch you’d love to build a collection around.
Creative things to make for your next collection
dessert-inspired candles
How cute are these dessert candles? The swirled tops, little berry shapes and biscuit-style decorations make each glass look like a tiny sundae.
I especially love the blue one beside all those pink and cream colors.
Try a coordinated color collection rather than copying every topping. These are design inspiration, not a candle recipe: use candle-safe components, test your finished candles and label them clearly as nonfood products.
clear floral coasters
I am obsessed with these flower-filled rounds. The orange and purple blooms look so pretty beside the tiny white flowers, with clear space showing between the stems.
For your own coaster collection, try a different lead flower in each design while keeping the same round shape. Check that your chosen casting product is suitable for the intended use.
teal flower earrings
These earrings may just be one of my favorites here. I love the deep teal outlines and the little cream flowers sitting near the pointed ends.
Keep the pale green leaves if you want a similar pairing. A matching pendant could be a lovely addition to your own collection.
framed pet portraits
How sweet is this dog portrait? The raised face has black, white and tan markings, with a little pink tongue peeking out.
That paw-shaped name detail is adorable too.
If sculpting is your thing, consider custom portraits based on customer photos. A plain dark frame like this lets the face stay front and center.
sage double plant hanger
If you love knotted designs, this one gives you plenty of detail to enjoy. Two rounded pockets hold pale pots, with a long sage-green tassel hanging below.
I’d keep this green and cream combination for a first version. Before offering your own hanger for sale, test the finished design with its intended pot sizes and loads.
rainbow bath bombs
Who doesn’t love a little rainbow? These round bath bombs have pink, peach, yellow, green, blue and purple bands.
The slightly uneven stripes are part of what makes them so cute.
Try a smaller color palette for a different collection. If you plan to sell bath products, use an appropriate tested formulation and follow applicable cosmetic safety and labeling requirements.
sleepy face tote
Don’t want an intricate painting project? This tote gives you a simpler design to build on.
Long colorful stripes hang above two black closed eyes with little lashes.
I love the mix of mustard yellow, pale pink and muted blue. For your version, vary the stripe lengths instead of making every line stop at the same point.
crochet axolotl
OMG, how adorable is this little axolotl? The mint side frills have pale yellow edges, with matching yellow details on the feet. Those big dark eyes are so cute.
If you enjoy crochet, try your own color combination using a pattern you’re permitted to sell finished pieces from. For toys intended for children, check the relevant safety requirements, including eyes and other attached parts.
personalized dog hooks
These dog-shaped hook plaques have such a fun little twist. Each hook sits on the dog silhouette, with a name running down the side of the backing.
Try offering a choice of silhouettes and lettering colors for your own versions. I especially like the teal lettering next to the dark brown dog.
beaded loop charms
If you’re looking for unique things to make to sell in small coordinated collections, these loop charms are worth a look. There are flower-shaped buttons, a strawberry, a mushroom and even a tiny moon.
Pick a theme for each one rather than using every charm together. The green beads with the red strawberry are my favorite pairing.
flower-filled phone case
I know the floral coasters above are gorgeous, but this phone case is another favorite. Mostly because the pink flowers and white daisies fill almost the entire back.
Leave the camera opening clear in your own design. You could also try a less crowded version with a few flowers along just one edge.
tiny face stickers
How cute are these little expressions? The pink and blue squares have simple black faces, while the yellow circles show a whole mix of moods.
Create your own expression sheet with a consistent color palette. A grumpy face next to a happy one makes the set a little more playful, haha!
jeans-style storage basket
This basket has such a fun jeans-inspired look. There’s a pocket across the front, visible seams and a loop handle on either side.
For an upcycling project, you could use old jeans to explore a similar design. Keep a pocket as part of the outside rather than hiding all those recognizable details.
faceted gray planter
Don’t want to add flowers, lettering or bright colors? No problem!
This gray planter gets its detail from the angular sides and hexagonal opening.
The picture shows the outer form being peeled away, but it isn’t a complete making guide. For your own version, follow a suitable casting process and decide whether it will hold a nursery pot or need drainage.
cheeky stamped cuffs
These cuffs definitely don’t hold back, lol! The narrow silver-colored bands have dark uppercase lettering, with phrases ranging from playful to very sweary.
You could make your own collection with cheeky sayings or take it in a gentler direction with initials and short reminders. Keep the lettering simple if you like this look.
floral embroidered cap
I love this little garden on the front of a pale cap. The raised red flowers sit among tiny white and pink blooms, with green stems spreading out on either side.
Try placing your own embroidery off to one side like this instead of covering the whole front. Leave the brim plain to follow the same idea.
colorful collar bandanas
These bandanas are just too cute. There are citrus slices, ice pops, llamas and bright floral patterns, with contrasting folded sections and little round button details.
The pink collar shows how one of the triangular designs sits on a collar. For your own pet accessories, check the fit and secure every attachment rather than treating the photo as a construction pattern.
pink heart and cube melts
If you like a matching product and packaging moment, this one is for you. The open silver-colored tin holds pink heart and cube-shaped wax melts, with matching closed tins beside it.
I love the pink accents on the circular labels.
Try this mix of shapes for your own collection. Use suitable wax-melt ingredients and include accurate product information and appropriate warnings on your packaging.
western stamped keychains
The western-style lettering is so fun on these long brown keychains. Some have braided sections near the ring, while others have a simpler folded top.
I especially love the small stamped flower details. For your own designs, offer initials or a short personal phrase with the same pointed ends.
planners and digital downloads
Want to make something without stocking physical products? This last image is a list of digital product ideas rather than a finished craft.
It includes planners, printable stickers, invitations and craft patterns.
Choose one format to start with, such as a weekly planner with your own colors and layout. Create original work and check commercial-use licenses for any fonts or graphics you include.
